UPDATE: Official: Russia, Greece in talks to restart flights October 1

MOSCOW, Sep 25 (PRIME) -- Russia has offered to resume flights to Greece from October 1, and the aviation authorities are in negotiations on the terms, an official of the Greek embassy in Moscow told PRIME on Friday.
Greece earlier allowed 500 Russians to arrive per week, starting from September 7 via the airports of Athens, Thessaloniki and Heraklion.
The official told PRIME: "Greece has opened its borders for the citizens of Russia and has offered to resume flights between the countries in accordance with the pandemic situation. We are waiting for an answer from the Russian side. The date of October 1 was offered by the Russian side."
An official of the Russian workgroup for virus response said than no final decision on the restart of flights with Greece had been made. The official added that the workgroup is considering the extension of the list of countries to resume flights with on the weekly basis.
